The World Music Day has origins in France. American musician Joel Cohen of Boston Camerata fame proposed an all-night music celebration to make the beginning of the summer solstice in 1976 while he was on to study music in Paris. The first music took place in 1982. Even since 1982,June 21 has been celebrated across many countries as World Music Day.
