  • 1949 - ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ആര്‍മിയുടെ ആദ്യത്തെ കമാണ്ടര്‍ ഇന്‍ ചീഫ് ജനറല്‍ കെ.എം.കരിയപ്പ ചുമതലയേറ്റു . ഇതിനു ശേഷം ഈ ദിവസം 'ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ആര്‍മി ഡേ ' ആയി ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
